Make America Great Again Statement

Statement on DeSantis Fundraising

“After a three month shadow campaign, including a legislative session that clearly leveraged Florida taxpayer money to elevate his fundraising efforts, DeSantis was still not able to raise enough money to make up for his botched campaign launch. His record of targeting senior benefits, wanting to raise taxes, and withholding funding for the border wall makes this campaign dead on arrival. No amount of money will change that.” – Alex Pfeiffer, spokesman for Make America Great Again Inc.

Ron DeSinking Ship

“Ron DeSantis is launching his campaign for president from a position of weakness.

On March 30 — the RealClearPolitics polling average showed President Trump with 45.9 percent support and DeSantis trailing at 30.1 percent. Less than two months later, the RCP polling average shows President Trump with 56.3 percent support and DeSantis at 19.4 percent.

DeSantis’ calamitous drop in support has been noticed.

Politico last week called DeSantis a “paper tiger” whose “weakness” has “GOP rivals smelling blood.”

As Politico explained, Tim Scott’s entrance into the race and possible announcements from Chris Sununu, Doug Burgum, Francis Suarez, Mike Pence, Chris Christie, and Glenn Youngkin, only make sense as there is a “growing belief within the party that DeSantis is a paper tiger…Far from projecting strength, DeSantis suddenly appears to be a candidate who’s thrived in a protective cocoon…DeSantis now confronts the perception that he is a porcelain candidate, glazed and decorative, durable enough, but not really built to withstand the blunt impact of Trump’s hammer or the full fury of a united Democratic Party.”

Ouch.

That Politico article isn’t an outlier. Take a look at the press Ron DeSantis has received in the lead up to his campaign announcement.”

Newsweek (May 18): “Ron DeSantis Collapse Sees Trump Surge to Huge 2024 Lead, Polls Show”

New York Times (May 18):  “Disney Pulls Plug on $1 Billion Development in Florida”

The Hill (May 19): “Poll finds Trump beating Biden by 7 points, DeSantis tying president in matchup”

Breitbart (May 19): “Harvard-Harris Poll: DeSantis Support Continues to Collapse as Trump Dominates”

New York Times (May 20): “Air DeSantis: The Private Jets and Secret Donors Flying Him Around”

The Post Millennial (May 20): “RUST BELT POLL: Battleground poll of Rust Belt states shows Trump 47, Biden 38, but Biden 38, DeSantis 34: Richard Baris’ Big Data Poll”

ClickOrlando.Com (May 21): “UCF student tracking Elon Musk’s jet now doing same with DeSantis”

Financial Times (May 22): “Ron DeSantis struggles for lift-off as campaign launch nears”

Larry Kudlow (May 22): “I’m waiting for DeSantis to show me an economic prosperity agenda…It is all about attacking a company in his state named Disney. He won’t let up. Conservative free market people don’t attack businesses. They do promote jobs and businesses. He hasn’t done that.”

Mark Simone (May 22): “Everything about Florida that you love – Desantis inherited…You watch DeSantis turn Disney into World War III. Imagine what he would do with Putin. This guy has got problems….He’s got all the drama of Trump without the charm or the humor. That’s his problem.”

Matt Lewis (May 22): “Free Advice for Ron DeSantis: Don’t Run for President…The Florida governor is uncomfortable around regular people, hides from the media, and is too skittish to take on Trump. What’s the point in running at all?”

Pete Hegseth (May 22): “Part of his rollout that was so poor from DeSantis was being on both sides of the Ukraine issue. Trump’s been very clear about it: ‘It didn’t happen under my watch and it wouldn’t have happened. And I don’t want to start foreign wars.’ DeSantis kind of tip-toed on the establishment route and then went another direction.”

Bret Baier (May 23): “Something has to change dramatically…Right now former President Trump controls the environment, he controls the base, and he controls the messaging.”

Newt Gingrich (May 23): “Trump keeps gaining and strengthening. But at the same time, DeSantis didn’t prove capable of reaching out to all the different elements of the party.”

Ron DeSantis Fought Against Trump’s America First Agenda

“Make America Great Again Inc’s latest ad reveals how Ron DeSantis fought against President Donald Trump’s America First agenda while in Washington.

As Ron DeSantis said in a leaked debate prep video, he “voted contrary to [President Trump] in the Congress.”

  • President Trump protected seniors’ benefits while Ron DeSantis voted several times to cut Social Security and Medicare. Ron DeSantis doubled down on his support for targeting Social Security in a recent interview with John Stossel where DeSantis said “younger people like me are receptive” to making changes to Social Security.
  • President Trump built over 400 miles of wall, which successfully reduced border crossings in those areas by over 87 percent.  Ron DeSantis voted against border wall funding.
  • President Trump cut taxes massively. In one year, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act put $2,000 directly back into the pockets of the average family. Ron DeSantis, by contrast, supported a national sales tax that would harm middle class families.

President Trump is the only candidate ready on day one to deliver for Americans again.”

Statement on Ron DeSantis’ Announcement

“This is one of the most out-of-touch campaign launches in modern history. The only thing less relatable than a niche campaign launch on Twitter, is DeSantis’ after party at the uber elite Four Seasons resort in Miami.

Everyday more and more Americans are realizing just how out of step Ron DeSantis is with their values and how unelectable he really is.  From his votes to cut Social Security and Medicare, to his support of a national sales tax that would raise taxes on 90% of families, to his vote in support of Obama’s TPP which sent jobs to China, to his vote against funding for President Trump’s wall, Ron DeSantis just isn’t ready to be President.  President Trump is ready on day one to turn our country around, reverse Biden’s disasterous policies and make America great again.” — Karoline Leavitt, spokeswoman for Make America Great Again Inc.

Background on Ron DeSantis:

We cannot afford to nominate a candidate that doesn’t have the track record and the plan to correct the dangerous course our nation is on starting immediately on Day One. President Trump has both the record and the agenda that demonstrates he is the only one who can fix our country.

Ron DeSantis, on the other hand, does not.

DeSantis has thrown his support behind disastrous ideas like co-sponsoring a 23 percent national sales tax not just once, but three times: in 2013, 2015, and 2017.

If our current tax system were to be replaced with a national sales like the one DeSantis wants to impose, it would be the middle class who suffers—90 percent of families would see a tax hike.

President Trump cut taxes massively—to the tune of $5.5 trillion. In one year, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act put $2,000 directly back into the pockets of the average family. Working and middle-class Americans saw the most benefits, with individuals earning less than $100,000 annually having a 17 percent reduction in their tax bills.

DeSantis has also spent his career attacking senior entitlements. He voted to cut Social Security three times, supported Paul Ryan’s plan to cut benefits from Medicare, and raise the retirement age to 70.

President Trump has a proven record on protecting Medicare and our nation’s seniors. During his administration, he successfully lowered Medicare Advantage premiums by 34 percent nationwide to their lowest level in 14 years. President Trump also reduced Medicare Part D prescription drug premiums by $2 billion over his term while simultaneously enhancing Part D plans to provide patients with access to a broad set of insulins at a maximum monthly copay of $35. President Trump has committed to protecting these crucial services and securing Americans’ hard-earned benefits.

DeSantis has already shown he will toe the globalist line—while in Congress, he even voted to grant President Obama “fast-track” authority to negotiate the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal. Thankfully, once President Trump took office, Americans finally had an expert negotiator and dealmaker in the White House to fight for them.

President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the TPP and ended the catastrophic NAFTA deal, replacing it with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which was projected to potentially create over 550,000 in its first decade. His administration also negotiated landmark trade deals with countries like Japan, South Korea, Argentina, and Brazil. He even secured a Phase One trade deal with China to begin holding them accountable for their economic warfare.

DeSantis even stood with globalists when he actually voted against a bill that included $1.6 billion in border wall funding. Luckily for the American people—and with no thanks to Ron DeSantis—President Trump succeeded in building and improving over 400 miles of the wall which successfully reduced border crossings in those areas by over 87 percent.

With over 6 million border patrol encounters of illegal immigrants under Joe Biden, it has never been clearer that we need someone ready to start the job straight away. There’s no time for on-the-job training. President Trump will be ready to go on his first day in office, ready to immediately ensure that the interests of forgotten Americans are once again defended both at home and abroad. “

Statement on NYT’s “Air DeSantis” Report

“The New York Times published a report Saturday on “Air DeSantis.”

The story notes: “Ahead of an expected White House bid, Mr. DeSantis has relied heavily on his rich allies to ferry him around the country to test his message and raise his profile. Many of these donors are familiar boosters from Florida, some with business interests before the state, according to a New York Times review of Mr. DeSantis’s travel…A half dozen lobbyists and donors who spoke with The Times said they became accustomed to calls from the governor’s political aides asking for planes — in at least one case, for a last-minute trip home from out of state and, more recently, for a flight to Japan.”

Statement from Karoline Leavitt, spokeswoman for Make America Great Again Inc.: “Ron DeSantis has become the embodiment of a political sellout. This story of secret luxury travel, along with his expected private campaign ‘launch’ at the swanky Four Seasons Resort, proves he has become a mere puppet of the ruling class. Ron DeSantis claims he will shake up the system. That’s nonsense. He’s owned by the system.””

President Trump Dominates CNN Town Hall

“President Donald Trump brought his winning message to New Hamphshire Wednesday night

President Trump was welcomed with a standing ovation and spent the town hall explaining how he will save America from Biden’s policies.  President Trump spoke about the need to bring immediate peace in Ukraine and how we can save our economy by bringing back energy independence.

Reactions to the town hall:

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: “I’m so proud of President Trump tonight, GREAT JOB!  He is truly showing everyone why he is the president America needs.”

Andrew Yang: “This #CNNTownhall is shaping up to be a clear win for Trump, certainly in the Republican field and probably overall.”

Michael Caputo: “CNN is one of the last places any Republican would want to sit for a live interview after a terrible civil court verdict. President Trump is proving he is not afraid of anything. Fearless and effective. Fear is for other people, not Trump.”

Dr. Sebastian Gorka: “President Trump is CRUSHING IT.”

Frank Luntz: “Trump’s numbers among Republicans  are going up after tonight.”

Rep. Ronny Jackson: “Trump is once again proving he’s the ONLY choice for 2024. Nobody can compete with him. He made America great again once, and he has the plan to do it AGAIN. TRUMP 2024!!”

Radio host Clay Travis: “Donald Trump just did an hour in the lion’s den on CNN. Taking everything they can dish out at him. I love it. Can you imagine Joe Biden doing an hour on Fox News? Would never happen. Biden legit couldn’t do it. He isn’t mentally or physically capable of doing it.””

“This could be the most corrupt scheme in American politics”

“As President Trump said recently in New Hampshire, “Joe Biden cares only about enriching his family. I care about enriching your family.”

The American public received more evidence today of the Biden Crime Family’s corruption.

The House Oversight Committee unveiled evidence showing millions of dollars flowing from foreign companies to the Biden family. As Rep. Byron Donalds noted, this is inherently sketchy as “the Biden Family doesn’t have a business. There is no business structure around this family except politics.”

The committee obtained bank records that “show the Biden family, their business associates, and their companies received over $10 million from foreign nationals’ companies. The Committee has identified payments to Biden family members from foreign companies while Joe Biden served as Vice President and after he left public office.”

The House Oversight Committee revealed “that more than $1 million flowed from a crooked Romanian businessman to the Biden family while then-Vice President Joe Biden paid lip service to cleaning up corruption in the Eastern European nation.”

Rep. Nancy Mace said at Wednesday’s press conference that “this could be the most corrupt scheme in American politics.””
