Public school teachers have the upper hand because there is no competition and they know it. Too many could care less about their students. Unlike most jobs, teachers have little accountability — in general, there is absolutely nothing a teacher can do to make a student learn when they do not want to learn. Students who want to learn come from homes where education is revered. Our public education system is corrupt and it needs to be dismantled. How? School choice is a good place to start.
P.S. Wish everyone could see the salaries and benefits teachers get where I live… and they only work nine months per year.
Taxpayers need to demand their school taxes be refunded. Watch how fast the schools will open, though I wonder why we want our kids to hurry back to the schools that are indoctrinating them instead of educating them?
I think, that the children’s issues are ones, that everyone can unite behind, as witnessed in Virginia. The crazies have gone too far, when they are threatening our children and hopefully this will be their downfall. Parents need more say on what is in the schools’ curriculums also! I suspect many of these liberal teachers themselves may not have been taught our history. They certainly act like it, anyway.
Most parents don’t have a clue what should be in a school’s curriculum.
Anyway, why would teachers not be taught history? After all, history courses are a graduation requirement in every high school in the nation.
