Thank you for injecting some sanity into this debate – or, at least, for trying to do so. I’m no fan of Mike Pence, but he did his level best to find a legal means to justify doing what Trump wanted him to do. He found none, because there isn’t one. The Vice-President simply does not have the authority to unilaterally declare that certain electoral votes will count, and certain others will not.
As you’re probably aware, Congress itself has only limited authority to challenge electoral votes. It takes one House member, plus one Senator, to file a challenge to a given State’s electoral vote, which triggers a two-hour debate, within each house, on the merits of that challenge. Ultimately, though, such challenge would still have to be approved by both houses to invalidate that state’s electors, and – obviously – the Vice-President has no Constitutional authority to overrule a vote by either house.
I have quite a few Republican friends and legal associates; for the most part, they prefer to avoid this topic altogether. Though they won’t come right out and say so, the reason is quite clear: they’re honest, honorable people and they refuse to perpetuate a lie.

Our Founders did not intend for the process of counting electors to be “ministerial.” To be accurate, what Pence should have done (and what is perfectly Constitutional) when evidence was presented that a state’s election was fraudulent, was to send the electors presented to him back to that state’s legislature for reconsideration. What did Trump say that was new, or even much different, from what he’s been saying for the past 15 months? The media doesn’t much care about the “same-ol’, same ol’.” Like it or not, good, bad, or indifferent, that’s just a simple fact.
There’s another simple fact, too, one that most Trump fans would rather not consider: his rationale for holding these rallies at all. Why is he doing them? To make himself more popular? More relevant? More Presidential? More credible? More likable? There’s no evidence that any of those things seems to be happening. Meanwhile, he continues to rake in the donations, and so long as he doesn’t formally declare his intentions, he’ll continue to get by with it.
I’m sure he enjoys himself at these events, and there’s no question that those who attend enjoy them, too. Which is fine. It just doesn’t make them newsworthy.
Sounds like he was either a RINO from the beginning, or he was bought off. It was like walking down a maze. Each turn was a dead-end, or a road block. Pence is still sending out emails to support him – but support him as a what I know not. I thought he had a good debate with Harris, but he should have. He screwed us. End of story. Susan Collins, Mitt Romney (and I hope Rona) Lisa Murkows, Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy and Lyndsey Graham. None of them should ever hold another political position as a Republican again.
Whoever was twisting Mike Pence’s arm also removed his spine.

I think Pence was conspiring with the other RINOs, deep state and the dems. He accepted the invitation to be your VP bc they told him if you won they would impeach you and he would be Pres. The poor bastard watched as you outwitted them at every turn, until the color revolution.

At the very least he should have sent the results back to the states to do an audit and find out the truth! mike pence failed this country, and our president monumentally!! He, and brandon will forever be known as America’s biggest traitors!!
And that is all any of the Patriots who went to the Capitol on Jan 6 wanted. He had the right, based on the suspicious activity to reject the certifications and send it back to the states in question. That was pretty much the whole point of the rally President Trump called for that day; The proper legal remedy to an obviously questionable election.

It would have been the case of “preserving and defending the will of We, the People”.
They do this all the time, but you must be careful with word choice, and not fall into their trap. Keep it as accurate as possible at all times. This is a strange new battlefield, but this is certainly where they wage war when they own 95% of the media!
