Under the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act, the military can’t be used for that purpose. The Act forbids the use of Federal military personnel to enforce domestic policy within the US. Border enforcement is domestic policy (as opposed to foreign policy) because it involves people being on US soil.

It was abundantly obvious in the impeachment trial that Trump did not incite the riot…he literally told people to peacefully protest, and while he was still speaking at the national mall or wherever it was, the riot was already in progress. I won’t call it an insurrection, because it wasn’t; the protesters weren’t armed, most of them just wandered around the Capitol taking selfies, etc. If that was an insurrection, they sure needed a better organizer! Only one person died…the others who the media claims died passed away later from a stroke or something. That said, it should never have happened; I saw the whole thing on the news and it made me sick to see that going on. I wish we could all know just what went on there; I strongly suspect it was touched off by the left, a few antifa plants or something, and then some Trump supporters lost their heads. It sure didn’t do Trump’s cause any favors, which is why I really hope no one resorts to violence again. It’s not the answer and makes the rest of us look bad.

I glanced through the article (the link was posted!) but don’t see any reference to Trump suppressing information. I definitely would agree that some wasteful spending went on! I think I was eligible for a check myself but I didn’t apply as didn’t need it and hated to think about how much money was going out with no way of knowing who really needed it and who didn’t. I don’t want to open the masking can of worms but real science shows that masks do practically nothing to stop the spread of upper respiratory illness (even Fauci admitted the virus is small enough to go right through the material). Here in my state we had a mask mandate from pretty early on, and we were probably the hardest hit of any state. But anyway, the spread was inevitable; that’s how illness is. No matter how hard you try, it’s incredibly hard to contain and has to run its course. That’s not to say you don’t try to stay healthy of course! But I don’t envy being Trump and those in his administration who had to make decisions of how to handle the crisis. Does his wanting to downplay the pandemic mean hiding important information from us? Or does it mean he was trying to avoid a massive panic? A good leader should be able to balance informing people while not being all doom and gloom and “everyone’s going to DIE!”

I think the clip you’re referring to is an old one…Trump’s views on abortion have evolved a lot; in fact I think he used to be Democrat. I was pretty suspicious of him to begin with, but his actions in office confirm to me that he is now pro-life. In fact I’d say he is the most pro-life president we’ve had in years, if ever. Tabbysaurus, I find it interesting that you accused Prize of hating Mr. Trump but said nothing about the post he/she is commenting on where Mr. trump is exposing his disdain for Mitch McConnell. It is obvious that what Prize hates is the mean-spiritedness of the former president that he demonstrates on a daily basis. Most people feel the same.
