I don’t think they make their money back. Think of it as an attack ad. Private donors funnel their money through the publishers. Cuomo and Hunter for example, never sold enough books to pay staff and printing costs, let alone the big writer’s bonus. Another scam is Disney donating to democrats, who then buy advertising on ABC/CNN. It comes right back to them.
